DIAA Tennis Semifinal Results

Dover, DE (May 26, 2021) - Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Tennis Championship completed the semifinal round today and the finals are set for tomorrow.  

2021 Boys & Girls Tennis Brackets - Semifinal Round Results

The boys and girls title matches will be held on Thursday, May 27 at St. Andrew's School.  The first serve is at 2pm.

Championship match ups: 

Boys 1st Singles: (1) Charlie Sternberg, Sanford vs (3) Andy Zhu, Archmere

Boys 2nd Singles: (1) Darin Jawahar, Caesar Rodney vs (2) Noah Reice, Charter Wilmington

Boys 3rd Singles: (1) Mike Dignazio, Tower Hill vs (3) Navia Armstrong, Charter Wilmington

Boys 1st Doubles: (1) Manjon/Boehne, Caesar Rodney vs (2) Heinle/Moutsatsos, Tower Hill

The DIAA Tennis Championship dates back to 1963.  St. Andrew's boys tennis boast 15 DIAA state championships, with their most recent title in 2013.  Brandywine has 9 boys tennis state titles, and Caesar Rodney boys tennis has 8 titles, with their most recent championship in 2018.  The defending boys tennis state champion is Tower Hill, who is seeking thier 5th title in 2021.  

Tower Hill has won 19 DIAA girls tennis state championships, and is seeking their 20th title in 2021; The Hiller's last girls tennis state title was in 2014.  Brandywine has 8 girls tennis state championships, and St. Andrew's has 7.  Dover High School is the defending DIAA girls tennis champions, winning in 2019.  There was not a DIAA tennis championship in 2020 due to COVID-19.  Caesar Rodney has claimed five total girls tennis championships, their most recent in 2018.
