DIAA Basketball Semifinals Are Set


Dover, DE (March 10, 2021) - The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Boys Basketball Championship quarterfinals were last night and the semifinals match ups are set for Thursday, March 11th. Sanford is returning to the boys semifinals this year after reaching them in 2020 before the tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19. This is Tower Hill's first appearance in the DIAA Boys Basketball semifinals.

Spectators will not permitted to attend tomorrow's game at Sanford School due to their approved DPH facility plan. Both semifinal games will be livestreamed on the NFHS Network.
Girls Basketball Championship:
The girl's semifinals are tonight and all games will tip off at 6:30 p.m.
Girl's Semifinal Match ups:
#4 Caravel at #1 St. Elizabeth
#10 Woodbridge at #3 Sanford
Spectators will not be permitted to attend tonight's semifinal game at Sanford School due to their approved DPH facility plan. Both semifinal games will be livestreamed on the NFHS Network.
*The girls basketball quarterfinal score between Caravel and Ursuline was listed incorrectly on yesterday's release. The correct final score of the game was Caravel 42 - Ursuline 41.
Unified Basketball Championship:
The Unified Basketball Semifinals are tonight. The match ups are:
South #4 Seaford at South #2 Dover, 4 p.m. Livestream link
South #3 Indian River at South #1 Caesar Rodney, 6 p.m. Livestream link
The finals will be on Saturday, March 13 at 1pm at the site of the higher seeded team.

Most DIAA State Championship games will allow two fans per player from each home and away team per the host site's approved DPH facility plan. Spectators are encouraged to check each host school’s website to determine each contest’s fan attendance policy as some sites do differ.

Live Streaming
NFHSNetwork is the official partner of the DIAA State Championship and will cover all the basketball semifinal and championship games. This year, member schools are permitted to provide live video coverage of post-season tournament contests through the quarterfinals. Broadcast fees apply to all non-member school livestream entities.
Media is permitted at events. We ask that media contact member schools for entry and placement of media depending on the layout of the facility, including how many people are permitted in the facility due to social distancing regulations. Only media with a DIAA 2020-2021 credential will be permitted entry.
Media should contact DIAA in advance to request live broadcast at any event. DIAA will notify member schools when requests have been approved. For media credential requests, media shall apply for credentials through the DIAA website.
