DIAA Basketball Tournament Information & Championship Site Update
Dover, DE (March 9, 2021) - The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Girls Basketball Championship quarterfinals were last night and the semifinals match ups are set for Wednesday, March 10th. St. Elizabeth and Sanford are returning to the girls semifinals in 2021 after reaching the semifinals in 2020 before the tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19.
There has been a site change for the 2021 Girls and Boys Basketball Championship games. Originally the championship games were scheduled at Chase (76ers) Fieldhouse, but due to the 2 spectator limit per player and no additional spectators allowed, the girls and boys championship games will be moved to Dover High School. The Girls Basketball finals will be held Friday, March 12th at 6 p.m. The Boys Basketball finals will be held on Saturday, March 13th at 4:30 p.m. Each participating team in the boys and girls finals will be permitted two (2) spectators per student athlete to attend.

Boys Basketball Championship:
The boys quarterfinals are tonight and all games will tip off at 6:30 p.m. Due to Tower Hill and Sanford's approved facility plan, spectators will not be permitted to attend tonight's quarterfinal games at Tower Hill and Sanford. Unified Basketball Championship:
The Unified Basketball quarterfinals were last night and the semifinals are set for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 10th. Seaford moved onto the semifinals due to an Appoquinimink forfeit. South #2 Dover def. North #3 Middletown, 29-23. South #3 Indian River def. North #2 McKean 34-31.
Unified Basketball Semifinals - Wednesday, March 10th:
South #4 Seaford at South #2 Dover, 4 p.m.
South #3 Indian River at South #1 Caesar Rodney, 6 p.m.
Most DIAA State Championship games will allow two fans per player from each home and away team per the host site's approved DPH facility plan. Spectators are encouraged to check each host school’s website to determine each contest’s fan attendance policy as some sites do differ.
Quarterfinal Round - $5.00 Students (K-12) and Adults
Semifinal Round - $6.00 Students (K-12) and Adults
Final Round - $7.00 Students (K-12) and Adults
NFHSNetwork is the official partner of the DIAA State Championship and will cover all the basketball semifinal and championship games. This year, member schools are permitted to provide live video coverage of post-season tournament contests through the quarterfinals. Broadcast fees apply to all non-member school livestream entities.

Media is permitted at events. We ask that media contact member schools for entry and placement of media depending on the layout of the facility, including how many people are permitted in the facility due to social distancing regulations. Only media with a DIAA 2020-2021 credential will be permitted entry.
Media should contact DIAA in advance to request live broadcast at any event. DIAA will notify member schools when requests have been approved. For media credential requests, media shall apply for credentials through the DIAA website.
