Friday, March 5, 2021 - Basketball Championship Update


Dover, DE (March 5, 2021) - The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Boys Basketball tournament first round games were last night.  The upsets of the first round included #24 Mt. Pleasant def. #9 Middletown and #20 Wilmington Christian def. #13 Delmar. The second round games will be played on Saturday, March 6 at 6:30pm.

Girls Basketball:
The second round of the girls tournament is tonight and all games tip off at 6:30 p.m. The upsets in the first round on Tuesday included #18 Delmarva Christian def. #15 William Penn, #21 Newark Charter def. #12 Howard, and #22 St. Mark's def. #11 Brandywine.
The girls quarter-final round will be played on Monday, March 8. The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday, March 10, and the Championship is on Friday, March 12.
Ticket Information 
Most DIAA State Championship games will allow two fans per player from each home and away team. Spectators are encouraged to check each host school’s website to determine each contest’s fan policy as some sites do differ.  
Play-In, First, Second, and Quarter-Final Rounds - $5.00 Students (K-12) and Adults
Semi-Final Round - $6.00 Students (K-12) and Adults
Final Round - $8.00 Students (K-12) and Adults
Live Streaming
NFHSNetwork is the official partner of the DIAA State Championship and will select certain games to stream live. This year, member schools are permitted to provide live video coverage of the post-season tournament contest. Broadcast fees apply except for livestreams by school-owned websites or school controlled webpages.
