Teachfest Delaware: Spring Academy Announced
TeachFest Delaware: Spring Academy follows the work of the 2014 and 2015 Delaware Dream Team, a group of 74 teachers selected from a statewide application process to participate in an intensive professional development experience. Delaware Dream Team teachers convened in October to kick off the process of creating high-quality instructional resources to share with teachers around the state and the country. The group finalized their resources through an online collaboration cycle and extended their learning through in-person follow up sessions. Delaware Dream Team teachers will put their leadership training into practice by serving as small group facilitators at the Spring Academy and coaching their peers throughout the resource creation process.
Mark Murphy, Secretary of the Department of Education states, “During the past two years we have been working with some of our top teachers to support their implementation of Common Core. It is so exciting to now see them impacting hundreds of additional teachers
through this training.”
Eric Westendorf, CEO of LearnZillion states, “We’re excited to build on the strong momentum of the Delaware Dream Team teachers, who have scaled their impact and strengthened their
leadership in incredible ways. We are honored that the DDOE has continued its partnership with LearnZillion to share this powerful professional learning experience with a larger community of Delaware teachers.”
Delaware Dream Team teachers look forward to serving as teacher leaders at TeachFest Delaware: Spring Academy. Stacie Zdrojewski, 2015 Delaware Dream Team teacher states, “I am very excited to continue to scale my impact by serving as a Spring Academy Facilitator.
