    Instructions For DEEDS Mentor Center

    Checking Off Program Years as Completed by the New Educator

    Deadline: Program Years should be checked off as completed as the educator completes each one after the required documents have been reviewed by the Mentor, Lead Mentor and Site Coordinator as applicable

    The Site Coordinator should collect the following documentation for the appropriate Year as described in the chart below before marking that Year off as completed:

    Year Documentation Required by Site Coordinator. Documents to be submitted to & reviewed by Lead Mentor/Mentor.
    1 Completed & signed Verification of Services Form for Year 1. One from both new educator and his/her Mentor. Copy of Certificate of Completion from ethics course. Any other documents required by the district/charter school.
    2 Completed & signed Verification of Services Forms for Year 2. One from both new educator and his/her Mentor. Any other documents required by the district/charter school.
    3 Completed & signed Verification of Services Form for Year Three from new educator. Any other documents required by the district/charter school.
    4 Completed & signed Verification of Services Form for Year Four from new educator. Any other documents required by the district/charter school.

    After the site coordinator has verified that the new educator has completed the requirements for the program year, he/she may check the year as completed by following the instructions below:

    • Log in to IMS https://login.doe.k12.de.us/
    • Click on the yellow "DEEDS" icon
    • Click on Mentoring Center
    • Click on Update Mentee Progress
    • Select the new educator's name from the drop down menu
    • Check the appropriate program year
    • Click Update Progress
    • If the new educator has completed all four years - follow the next step…
    • Click Send Evaluate Reminder to notify the HR office that the new educator has completed the mentoring program. The personnel director or a designee will verify, through the DEEDS District Center, that the new educator has received 2 out of 3 satisfactory DPAS II summative evaluations in order to complete their requirements for the Continuing License.
