• Annual Attendance and Enrollment Reporting

    In order for your nonpublic school (private or homeschool) to remain in an open and active status, the school administrator must report attendance and enrollment annually to Delaware Department of Education via the Nonpublic School Application. This is pursuant to Delaware law, 14 Del.C. § 2704:

    (a) All persons conducting nonpublic schools shall report end of the year attendance information to the DDOE annually, on or before July 31, on such forms as shall be prescribed by the DDOE.

    (b) Such persons shall also submit annually, no later than October 5, a statement of pupil enrollment as of the last school day in September, on such forms as prescribed by the Department of Education

    You do not need to reapply for a new school each year.


    Upcoming Scheduled Reporting Windows

    Attendance: Monday, June 3, 2019 - Wednesday, July 31, 2019

    Enrollment: Friday August 2, 2019 - Friday, October 4, 2019

     Please note, the Nonpublic School Application will be closed on August 1st in order to roll the application from to the new school year. You will be unable to access the system to make changes, updates, or report enrollment on August 1st.

    The school administrator will receive an email notification once the reporting window has opened. The administrator must then log into the Nonpublic School Application in order to complete the required reporting.

    Annual Attendance Reporting

    Attendance reported is an aggregate number of days, including the total amount of days the nonpublic school was open for the school year as well as the total number of attendance days per student.

    The attendance reporting window will open annually on June 1st. If June 1st falls on a weekend, the attendance reporting window will open the first Monday following June 1st. The attendance reporting window will close annually on July 31st. If July 31st falls on a weekend, the attendance reporting window will close the Friday before July 31st.

    If a nonpublic school fails to report their attendance information during the attendance reporting period, the school will be closed and any enrolled students will be withdrawn.

    Annual Enrollment Reporting

    Enrollment reported contains the required information for any student(s) who will be attending the school for the school year.

    The enrollment reporting window will open annually on August 2nd. If August 2nd falls on a weekend, the attendance reporting window will open the first Monday following August 2nd. The enrollment reporting window will close annually on October 5th. If October 5th falls on a weekend, the enrollment reporting window will close the Friday before October 5th.

    If a nonpublic school fails to report their enrollment information during the enrollment reporting period, the school will be closed and any student(s) enrolled at the end of the previous school year will be marked as withdrawn in the new school year.
