• School Profiles

    Delaware aims to enable parents and stakeholders to engage meaningfully in public education, which is only possible when they have access to clear, robust, timely and continuous information about how their students and schools are doing throughout the state. Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the way schools currently report information will change beginning in the 2017-18 school year. New and enhanced information will be made publicly available by December 31, 2018.

    Some of the changes to what schools will publicly report include:

    • Growth in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math - How well student learning is improving over time
    • Long-term goals and measurements of interim progress - Progress of student’s performance compared to state goals
    • English Language Proficiency Attainment - How well students who learn English as a second language are achieving language goals 
    • District Preschool Programs - How many students enroll in district preschool programs
    • Chronic absenteeism - How much school a student misses due to a reoccurring absence for any reason.

    These changes reflect the importance that families, educators, community members and other stakeholders place on school performance and further define high-quality education as reported in School Success Reports. Through the implementation of ESSA, DDOE will continue to meet with stakeholders to develop the state, district/charter, and school report cards and associated components.
