About the State Board of Education
The State Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate.
In 2019, the Board will add two non-voting members, including an 11th or 12th grade student enrolled in a Delaware public school and a former Delaware State Teacher of the Year.
The Board’s regular monthly meetings are open to the public and are usually scheduled for the third Thursday of the month, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Board rotates locations of regular meetings among Delaware's three counties.
