Nomination Statement
“Sarah Larose is a highly motivated student athlete who sets high expectations for herself and fully applies herself to each activity she is part of. She serves as class treasurer and treasurer for the National Honor Society. Additionally, she was team captain for cross country, state champion in the 4x800, conference champion in the mile and two mile, and second-team all-state for cross country. She also works a part-time job and enjoys volunteering at roadside clean-ups. In the fall, she will pursue a degree in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech.”
In times of difficulty, I remember this quote by President Theodore Roosevelt: Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty. The accomplishments I reflect proudly on have never come without means of sacrifice or times of struggle. As I continue my journey to college and adulthood, I hope to continue this mindset that whatever challenges I face, it is the difficulty in overcoming them that makes the obstacle worthwhile.
