Nomination Statement

“I believe I qualify for this not only because of my academic achievements of being 4th in my graduating class, but because of my achievements outside the classroom. I am the Cadet Corps Commander of our AFJROTC branch leading 160 cadets. I am the President of the National Honors Society, and between these two groups I have over 250 inside-of-school volunteer hours. I am a co-leader of Students Serving Students mentoring group that travels to meet with middle school students in the Colonial School District. I participate heavily in the classroom as well as outside of it.”

The biggest influence to do well in school was my inner belief to prove myself. I have always believed that there was more for me, constantly driving my success in academics and abroad. Because of this belief, I have grown over four years thinking I can do more and more, pushing myself past limits. Another big influence was my family and friends, whom I found myself always trying to impress.
