Educator, school staff vaccination registration opens Tuesday, Jan. 26The Delaware Department of Education is preparing for the initial launch of educator and school staff COVID-19 vaccinations during the week of January 25th.For the first week, the department will be piloting a pre-registration/registration system as well as site-based vaccination clinics with our Acme/Safeway Pharmacies partner. There will be a very tight turnaround for registration in the first week of the process. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we get this underway.Steps moving forward
Please note: There is a limited supply of vaccine being provided to the State of Delaware weekly. All events will be dependent on vaccine supply. This process will take time to complete. Please feel free to contact the DOE vaccine team at Education.CovidVaccine@doe.k12.de.us with any questions.
- On Tuesday, Jan. 26, ALL educators and school staff will receive an email with a link to our new pre-registration system. ALL educators and school staff who are interested in receiving the vaccine, no matter in what stage they fall, should complete this form. This form is a request only and will be followed by a registration form at a later date. (Those 65 and older who have already completed the pre-registration form for Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) and have not yet received their shot should also complete DOE's form because they are linked to different opportunities.)
- While completing the pre-registration form, educators and school staff will be asked to self-identify in one of the three risk-based stages used to deploy the vaccine by DOE. Educators and school staff will only need to pre-register once. This will provide DOE with a database of employees ready to be vaccinated. This link will stay open over time so individuals may choose to pre-register at a later date.
- The following day, invitations will be sent to educators/school staff who submitted pre-registration forms. Due to the limited supply of vaccine, the first week's events will result in approximately 1,000 invitations issued. Recipients will be given information on how to directly register for one of four events on either Thursday, January 28th, Friday, January 29th, Saturday, January 30th or Sunday, January 31st.
- Information related to the specific locations of each event is being finalized and will be shared early next week as well. There will be at least one location in each county. If you do not receive an invitation for the first event, your request will remain active for all future events.
