    Purpose

The Delaware Department of Education is pleased to announce an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in a state-wide Design Team for the 2019-2020 school year focused on culturally responsive practices. The purpose of the Design Team is to collaboratively contribute to the development, design, and roll-out of the Delaware Department of Education’s Culturally Responsive Practices Framework and guidance documents. The Design Team will convene monthly on the first Thursday, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., beginning in October 2019 through June 2020.

    Design Team Application

Applicants may consist of, but are not limited to, school staff, paraprofessionals, teachers, specialists, leaders, parents, partners and community members. The Culturally Responsive Practices Framework will support the state, school districts, and schools in pursuing and sustaining the implementation of culturally responsive practices for schools.  The Framework will outline consistent competencies for teachers, leaders, and school communities to identify and improve their respective levels of cultural responsiveness and practice.

The Design Team application will help the selection team choose a diverse group to help develop, design, and roll-out the Culturally Responsive Practices Framework. If you need assistance in completing any portion of the application or need further guidance on any questions, please reach out to Monique Martin at monique.martin@doe.k12.de.us who will connect you to the necessary resources.
