Delaware Next Generation Science Assessment

Sample Test Items

The Delaware Department of Education engaged with WestEd to design and develop sample tasks for Delaware's Next Generation Science test. These tasks were administered to Delaware students to measure their effectiveness. They were then revised based on the data collected during the research period.

These sample test items mirror the types of tasks that will be presented on the Delaware state science test. These items also are available to Delaware educators as sample NGSS-aligned assessments for use in classrooms.
