Alternative Educator Evaluation Systems
Application, Renewal, and Modification Information for SY 2018-19
The Department welcomes applications from Local Education Agencies (LEAs) interested in creating their own evaluation models and processes in the spirit of increasing differentiated educator support and accountability and, ultimately, increased levels of student achievement. Applications may be for teacher, specialist, assistant principal, principal, district leader and/or superintendent evaluation systems. All applications must comply with requirements outlined in Delaware state code and any additional guidance provided by the Delaware Department of Education. All educator evaluation systems must be state-approved.
Timeline & Key Dates for 2018-19 Application Season
September 22, 2017 - Application Released
February 16, 2018 - Intent to Apply Form Due to DDOE
February & March 2018 - Information Sessions for LEAs with Intent to Apply
March 29, 2018 - Application and All Accompanying Materials Due to DDOE
May 4, 2018 - DDOE Provides Feedback on Application
June 1, 2018 - Resubmitted Applications Due to DDOE (if required)
July 2, 2018 - Delaware Department of Education Provides Application Decisions
August 1, 2018 - All Approved Systems Must Provide Detailed Plans on the Design, Development, & Roll Out of their Observer Training & Credentialing Assessments

Please note that an "Intent to Apply Form" is due to the Delaware Department of Education on February 16, 2018.
