• Assessments for Science

Assessments are tools educators use to measure students’ academic achievement. Assessments should contain questions that require deep critical thinking and writing, rather than standard multiple-choice. Assessments are also meant as a means to allow educators to deepen their understanding of student progress from grade to grade, and to identify and address gaps in progress early.

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)

NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas. NAEP results are based on representative samples of students at grades 4, 8, and 12 for the main assessments, or samples of students at ages 9, 13, or 17 years for the long-term assessments.
