Welcome to Family Literacy

Family Literacy Program
  • Family Literacy programs enable parents to be their child’s first teacher, improving literacy levels of young children while providing instruction to parents. The program has a unique combination of educational opportunities that include:

    • Adult Basic Education (ABE) for parents
    • Parenting education
    • Early childhood development activities for children
    • Interactive literacy activities

There are two programs operating in Delaware. Classes are located in schools, libraries and public housing authorities.
