Teen Pregnancy Prevention Education
Teenage childbearing often is thought of as a problem that pertains only to adolescent females. But talking about responsible sexual behavior needs to recognize both female and male involvement. Approximately 30% of teens dropout of school following a pregnancy. Effective reproductive health education has been shown to delay sexual activity and increase the use of condoms and other contraception for sexually active adolescents.
Schools play an important role in HIV/STD and teen pregnancy prevention education. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to develop healthy relationships and to avoid sexual behaviors that put them at risk for unintended pregnancy, HIV and STDs.
