• Special Education for Families and Communities

  • Welcome to the State of Delaware education resource page for families of students with disabilities. This site is maintained by Delaware's Exceptional Children Resources workgroup and provides parents, guardians, and families with education-related information and resources available to Delaware students with disabilities.

Children with disabilities are successful in the classroom and beyond when high expectations exist alongside appropriate supports. Our goal is to assist districts and charter schools throughout Delaware in their mission to prepare students ]to be successful in College and/or Careers.

Parent engagement is vital to the IEP process and to student success. For information about how the Exceptional Children Resources Work Group engages parents, as well as parent engagement survey results, please see the Exceptional Children Resources and Parent Engagement PowerPoint.
