Special Education

The mission of the Exceptional Children Group, in collaboration with other DOE units, is to provide leadership to ensure that Delaware delivers an effective system of education for students with disabilities that is in full compliance with Federal and state laws. This mission is accomplished by having in place a legal framework, collaborative relationships, needs assessment, program supports, and monitoring to ensure that students receive a free and appropriate public education.
