Response to Intervention in Early Childhood Focus

  • Response to Intervention in Early Childhood (RTIEC) focuses on providing quality learning experiences for all young children through intentional teaching and responsive caregiving.  RTIEC includes the delivery of differentiated support for all young children using the RTI frameworks and a data-based, decision-making process.  The components of RTIEC include:

    • Implementation of an early childhood comprehensive curriculum with fidelity
    • Alignment of curriculum and instruction to Delaware's Early Learning Standards
    • Recognizing a child's strengths and needs through screening, ongoing progress monitoring, and assessment
    • Intentional teaching tailored to a child's strengths, areas of concern, and interests
    • Using observation and assessment data to plan instruction
