Governor Minner Launches DEL, the State’s New and Improved Online Recruitment and Tracking System
Dover –Governor Ruth Ann Minner today officially unveiled the Delaware Employment Link (DEL) www.delawarestatejobs.com, the state’s new online job resource that will provide a faster and more efficient hiring process for state agencies and enhanced features and an easier application process for those seeking state jobs.“It is important that our state government runs efficiently in order to ensure its continued success, and the way we hire employees for state positions is a key part of that,” Governor Minner said. “When we initially thought of creating something like DEL, we knew we wanted to fill positions more quickly, and we wanted to find the best possible candidates for these jobs. This service will benefit everyone who uses the system, from managers hiring for vacant positions to those seeking a new job in state government.”
With DEL, there will be no more registers, no more one year application expirations and the minimum posting will convert from 15 days to 7.
Job applicants will also benefit greatly from DEL through new features and an easier application process. With DEL, an applicant only needs to fill out basic information once. DEL will store the information which can be updated and reused for future job openings. DEL will also let applicants know when their application was received, if the person met the job requirements, when interviews take place and when the position was filled. DEL will also send applicants automatic e-mail notification when a job opening comes up in a field of the person’s choice.
“When OMB was first established, one of our main goals was to make sure that we streamlined existing processes by utilizing quality improvement techniques,” said Jennifer Davis, Director of the Office of Management and Budget. “DEL is an excellent example of how we are working to simplify our services to the public and to state agencies.”The State of Delaware’s Human Resource Management Office will be offering extended office hours in their Employment Services Centers each Wednesday evening during the month of April to provide assistance to State employees and the general public in completing an application using the new Delaware Employment Link (DEL) system.
