Agenda for Delaware Women Trailblazer Scholarship


Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a woman who is a legal resident of Delaware and U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Must enroll in a public or private nonprofit college in Delaware as an undergraduate student in the 2009-10 academic year.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Criteria:

  • Based 50% on financial need
  • Based 50% on community and school activities, vision, participation, and leadership
Award:
  • Ten awards of $2,500 for one year.
  • Recipients may reapply annually.
Deadline:
  • 4:30 p.m. on April 10, 2009, to submit scholarship application
  • Applicants must file the FAFSA at least two weeks prior to the deadline for the application. The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov after January 1, 2009.
  • Your High School Academic Record Report and Transcript Request or College Grade Release Form must be submitted directly to the Commission from your high school or college and received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009.

Application:

You can apply for the 2009-2010 Agenda for Delaware Women Trailblazer Scholarship beginning December 1, 2008, on DHEC's secure Student Account Access site at https://www.doe.k12.de.us/high-ed/student/login.aspx. First-time users must establish an account and provide a valid email and mailing address before proceeding to the application. Incomplete applications cannot be processed. Please be sure to provide all of the required information:

  1. Completed application
  2. Personal statement of 1,000 to 1,200 words
  3. (a) High School Academic Record Report and Transcript Request (high school seniors and applicants with less than 12 college credits), or
    (b) College Grade Release Form (applicants with 12 or more college credits)
  4. Completed FAFSA
