SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA Trade & Industrial Education SkillsUSA is an organization open to all students who are currently enrolled in a training program in trade, industrial, technical or health occupations. SkillsUSA is a co-curricula program designed to be an integral part of the classroom instruction. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communication skills. SkillsUSA emphasizes high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA programs include local, state, and national competition, which provide students the opportunity to showcase their occupational and leadership skills. SkillsUSA has helped to establish industry standards for job skill training with the Professional Development Program, a self paced curriculum that teaches communication, management, teamwork, workplace ethics, job interviewing and more. The program involves local industry and academics and can be used in apprenticeship, co-op, school to work and special needs programs.
