The mission of the Exceptional Children Group, in collaboration with other DOE units,is to provide the leadership to ensure that Delaware delivers an effective system of education for students with disabilities that is in full compliance with Federal and state laws. This mission is accomplished by having in place a legal framework, collaborative relationships, needs assessment, program supports, and monitoring to ensure that students receive a free and appropriate public education.
- FFY 2013 IDEA Part B Application - Neither proposed or final allocations have been provided by the US DOE. The proposed use of funds for FFY 2013 are made using the FFY 2012 Interactive Spreadsheet and funding levels.
- FACES (Family Advocacy and Child Educational Services) Program to benefit children under the age of 6 with hearing impairments includes education in American Sign Language and (where desired by parents and educationally appropriate) spoken language instruction. Announcement 3/30/2012.
