The Center provides high quality long-term sustained staff development to teachers of science in the public schools of Delaware, K-12. The Center finds instructors, locations, and the materials to teach the concepts from the Delaware Science Standards and Performance Indicators. The Center sets up times, dates and a system to monitor the effectiveness of these projects, and organizes a system to sell products and services to school districts which offer substantial cost savings to the districts. The John W. Collette Education Resource Center pools state budget appropriations, grants from the federal government, and competitive grants from business and industry to take advantage of economies of scale via large purchases of equipment and materials at one time. The John W. Collette Education Resource Center provides incentives to motivate elementary and secondary teachers to utilize our projects by offering teachers continuing education credits, and the opportunity to access new technologies.

In short, the John W. Collette Education Resource Center assists the public schools of the State of Delaware so their students can meet the rigorous Delaware Science Standards and Performance Indicators.
