Pat was appointed to the State Board of Education by Governor Ruth Ann Minner in June 2008. After graduating from Concord High School, Pat received a degree in Chemistry from the University of Delaware. He is employed as a manager in the Information Technology field and has worked at IBM, Siemens, EDS and a private consulting firm. He lives with his wife Debra and his three school-aged children in the Brandywine School District.
Pat is co-president of the Brandywine Special Needs PTA. He served on the Governor’s Advisory Council for Exceptional Citizens (GACEC). A key function of the GACEC is to provide input and comment on bills and regulations affecting the education of students with disabilities. Pat was chairman of the GACEC Policy and Law Committee 2007-2008. He also worked with other community members and Brandywine district staff to develop the Brandywine School District’s current five year strategic plan. He coached an Odyssey of the Mind team from Harlan Elementary and has been active in father/child programs at the YMCA.
