The goal of the programs under Student Services and Special Populations is to provide support to those that are trying to maximize the potential of all students. Emphasis is placed on removing barriers to student achievement, especially for at-risk students and families. Often social/emotional/mental health issues prevent students from succeeding. This goal is accomplished by working with and supporting school counselors, family crisis therapists, visiting teachers, homeless liaisons, and staff that educate students that are detained or incarcerated.
