These assessments capture students’ knowledge in action – rather than recall of discrete facts. Short written responses provide a window to what students think – the information teachers need to make instructional adjustments. These assessments closely align with the Common Core State Standards. Each assessment includes a link identifying the relevant standard(s).
Literacy Concept Organizers -Created to assist teachers in aligning instruction to the Common Core State Standards in ELA. These Literacy Concept Organizers are a resource from which teachers can select appropriate Knowledge, Understandings, and Dos to develop their own unit(s) of instruction.
Literacy Design Collaborative - The Literacy Design Collaborative [LDC] offers a fresh approach to incorporating literacy into middle and high school content areas. Designed to make literacy instruction the foundation of the core subjects, LDC allows teachers to build content on top of a coherent approach to literacy.
